I loved all the movies you talk about, except from The Wailing. It was one of the most boring and nonsense stuff I've ever seen... I really don't understand the hype around this movie. Despite the great atmosphere and the few good scenes, it was really long and boring in my opinion.

I watched Shoplifters with only what my mom told me about it (and she describes movies really poorly lol) and it was a great experience. Recently, me and a two friends were trying to pick a film to watch and were going through trailers which included Shoplifters. Don't watch the trailer for that movie! It's horrible and revealed too much despite it being totally easy to make the trailer very ambiguous. It really upset me since my friends haven't even seen the movie and got too much info from the trailer.

    • Chase Yancey
      Chase Yancey

The cinematography: beautiful. Musical score: beautiful. There are very few films that I have watched where I have really cared so much about its characters, especially Patsy (goodness did I feel awful for her). I cold also really tell the director Steve McQueen genuinely cared about telling Solomon’s story. Michael Fassbender’s acting was absolutely phenomenal. And the violence was absolutely gut wrenching. I’ll never forget the scene where Solomon was hanging there for what seemed like hours. I cried like a baby when the credits began to roll. Truly one of my favorite films ever.

THANK GOD, someone has the same taste of movies as I, Arrival is a pure masterpiece, it wasn't just generic sci-fi drama but it makes you THINK about the life beyond you and your spectrum, so well crafted and shoted. It's the type of a movie which influences you for upcoming years. The same with Her. I wasn't sure to click on THIS video I am glad I did. Thank you :)

I'm glad you choose Shoplifters as the best in the list, I love Sholifters more than Parasite, more bias since I prefer Japanese movies to the Korean movies, but Parasite is an excellent one, it just didn't hit feeling much as Shoplifters did. 2 movies are masterpiece anyway.
